Poças Quinado Port Wine
€208.20
Quinado wine is a culture of wine in its pure state, a rare classic that has been reissued, much appreciated in Brazil and in the former Portuguese colonies of Africa. A story that began more than 40 years ago, when the former wine taster at Poças Júnior, Miguel Pinto Hespanhol, created the Poças Quinado wine. The exact recipe is unknown, but it is known that it is a wine that mixes the characteristics of an old tawny with the bitterness of quinine and the aromatic exuberance of a set of essences that will have been used at the time of its elaboration. The pharmaceutical character is part of the life of this liqueur wine, flavored and with therapeutic qualities against malaria, arising from the quinine added in minimal doses, however, at this time it began to be considered a pleasure product, much appreciated as an aperitif, having thus acquired a great prestige
Tasting Notes: Auburn red. Highly aromatic, with notes of orange peel, smoke, mint leaves, some chemical and toasted hazelnut. Full-bodied and well integrated into the wood. Complex, notes of spices and aromatic herbs. An elegant acidity in a long, dry finish.
Pairing: Ideal as an aperitif. Specially accompanies all types of meat and game and various cheeses.
Serve slightly chilled (14°C-16°C)
