De La Rosa Extra Virgin Douro Olive Oil
Well-rounded nutty taste and a pleasant peppery finish with a fruity aroma of fresh green apples.
Olive trees grow high on the steep banks of the Douro valley, among the vineyards and are organically grown without the use of pesticides. The trees flourish in the microclimate of the Douro valley and, in October, the ripe red olives are hand-picked with care and attention. After harvesting, La Rosa Olive Oil is made using a process called cold extraction, during which the temperature is kept at 28°C. The olives are washed, crushed, passed through a continuous press and finally filtered to produce a rich and intensely colored extra virgin olive oil with an acidity of 0.3%.
Perfect way to serve: It is ideal for salads, marinades and as a condiment for fish and pasta. It’s also delicious with some fresh bread before a meal.
Varieties: Carrasquinha and Negrilha.
